Independence Day Celebrations by students and staff of Wisdom School with Cleaning Helpers
The Independence Day celebrations form an integral part of the co-curricular events on the academic calendar of the Wisdom Group of institutions. The celebration at Wisdom International School, Richmond Town, was an unique event where the students celebrated Independence day with a lot of zest and fervour.
Mr Fiaz Sharief, CEO of the school with his team, organized events for the special sections of the society: the Dalits, the paurakarmikas, the cleaning helpers, the sick the aged and the poor. This is in line with the conviction that there are many who just talk about equality, but do not take practical steps to create equality with the underprivileged. So the Wisdom School team led by Fiaz set up the dictum: “Give respect to all your fellow beings and make them happy, thereby please thy lord!”
The students, dressed in the costumes of different freedom fighters visited a hospital and presented the patients with fruits and gifts bringing a smile on their faces. Similarly, the senior citizens of the home for aged were excited when they received tokens of love from the budding scholars of Wisdom School. To invite dignitaries and officials to hoist the flag and to preside over the function is the usual social norm in the society. But it was a refreshing break that at Wisdom school, Mr. Balan Anna and Bavakka, the cleaning helpers, were invited as chief guests. They hoisted the flag and received gifts and were overjoyed when they were invited for lunch with the CEO, Fiaz Sharief.
Treating all citizens of the nation as equal brothers and sisters was something that Wisdom School demonstrated in practice, and indeed a great value that the school is imbibing to its young students.
