Belgaum: The Shaikh College of Engineering and Diploma here began its diploma courses in civil and mechanical engineering on July 30. Muhammad Ali, former director of the Technical Education in Government of Karnataka commissioned the course by lighting a lamp. Presiding over the function, Abu Shaikh, chairman of the Shaikh Group of Institutions said the Engineering College was started in 2009 and has made tremendous progress.  Prof. Ananth Shedonkar welcomed the gathering.
