The Budget allocation for Karnataka Urdu Academy has been hiked from Rs. 50 lakh to Rs. 70 lakh for the financial year ending on March 31. A statement to this effect was made by the Minority Welfare Minister Qamarul Islam on January 29. He said, the budget had allocated only Rs. 50 lakh but an additional allocation of Rs 20 lakh is being organized from the Minority welfare funds.
