3-Day Photo Exhibition at Bidar

Bidar: A 3-day exhibition of photographs snapped by late photojournalist Ghulam Muntaqa was held here on February 3-5 at Rangeen Mahal. Nearly 200 photos were displayed. It was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner P. C. Jaffer.
Among them were the historic six-feet long bromide that captured the panoramic view of Taj Mahal Hotel and the Gateway of India and other historic buildings and the Bangalore’s Vidhana Soudha. Ghulam Muntaqa who died last year, was an ace photographer who gathered antique cameras from scrap markets and made them work with various adjustments. He was also an avid collector of various kinds of honey. Nearly 200 varieties of honey including the honey from Neem trees, mango trees, tamarind trees and nectar drawn from oat crops were found in his collections. The exhibition was organized on the eve of Bidar Utsav.
