In a world which is constantly developing its technologies , huge numbers of people now have access to a cell phone. Every gadget has its own positive and negative impact, depending on how it is used by users. Cell phones can serve many positive functions, and today many of us have started depending on them for our day-to-day chores. However, newer innovations in cell phone technologies are coming into being that are enough to keep one busy and consume much of one’s productive time.
Cell phones today are among the most important devices used in our life. What effects are they having on the younger generation? Are the youth using it to benefit themselves or are they unknowingly harming themselves?
As we look around us we see people busy with their cell phones. Many students depend mainly on their cell phones as a source of knowledge, whether it’s for an assignment, a project or any other academic task for which they need guidance. Materials are easily available on the Net on cell phones, which consumes less time in comparison to offline sources.
In addition to this, young boys and girls are often busy with peering into their cell phones because of many social media applications. This obsession has engulfed them in its trap. The easy availability of Internet through cell phones has left the mind and body lethargic and has brought the youth to a state of laziness. Many of them have stopped engaging in physical activities, whereas before the prevalence of cell phones, young boys and girls were found playing in parks, engaging in sports and so much more. Similarly, it’s really upsetting that what served as a major source of knowledge for hundreds of years””beautiful books of great authors””are often simply lurking in the shelves of libraries while young people are now seeking knowledge from online sources, which may not be healthy in the long run. They find it so difficult to separate themselves from their cell phones that even before visiting a doctor, they visit a search engine to find if they’re suffering from any disease or not when the harsh reality, which they refuse to face, is how badly they’re harming themselves with their obsession with their phones.
There are always two aspects of every phenomenon positive and negative and we need to enlighten ourselves on both before coming to a conclusion about any matter. The same is true for cell phones.
It is agreeable that everything comes with a positive and negative aspect, but the greater advantage lies if the positive subdues the negative. Considering all the Pros and Cons of the given topic ‘ Is the youth really addicted to Cell Phones,’ we come to a conclusion that the cons of using cell phones are much higher than the pros.
