Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh): The foundation stone was laid for the Andhra Pradesh Haj House here on May 12 by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in Vidyadharapuram locality. The Haj House for Andhra Pradesh will be constructed in Vijayawada as a ground-plus-six storey building, with 120 rooms, 30 service apartments and 20 dormitories so that as many as 1,200 Haj pilgrims can be accommodated at a time. A Haj House, Masjid, Shadi Khana and Eidgah will be built in this complex, with an estimated expenditure of Rs. 80 crores. These Haj Houses are provided with various facilities. CM Naidu said, “In olden days, Muslims from AP had to go to Mumbai for Haj registrations. Now we are constructing two Haj houses in AP. Kadapa Haj house construction has already started. Now we will build Haj House in capital region. This Haj house can accommodate more number of Muslims. This will be equipped with ultramodern amenities.”
