He was president of the 125-year old Muslim Orphanage

Bengaluru: Mr. Sirajullah Khan, President of the Muslim Orphanage died on December 18 after being hospitalized briefly. He was 86. He is survived by his wife. He had no children. He had been heading the executive body of the over a century old Muslim Orphanage for the last five years. His tenure witnessed several reforms in the administration. He was elected the vice president of the Central Muslim Association during the last election and was acting as the President since the demise of Alhaj Maqbool Ahmed a few months ago. Mr. Khan retired as the Secretary of the Karnataka Board of Auqaf in the late 1980s. He was earlier the Deputy Director in the Department of Sericulture. A pious bureaucrat, he served the various positions with utmost sincerity, honesty and dedication. He initiated the formalization of various property deeds and other documents of the Central Muslims Association which manages several hostels and schools in Bengaluru. He was laid to rest in the Bada Makan graveyard near Lalbagh the same evening by hundreds of mourners.
