Bengaluru: Over 3,800 girls studying in colleges and pursuing various professional courses received scholarship from Bazm e Niswan Charitable Trust on July 18 at an impressive function held at Samad Function Hall. Cheques amounting to Rs. 1.50 crore were presented to the girls by various VIPs invited for the occasion.
Briefing the media, Ms. Husna Sheriff, President of the Bazm, said the Bazm’s scholarship have so far benefitted over 8,000 girl students in Karnataka since the scheme was launched in 1974.
The cheques were given away by guests of honour, Mr. Roopak Kumar Dutta, ex-DGP and member, Human Rights Commission and Mr. Nayaz Ahmed Sharieff, Assistant Director, Directorate of Minorities. (By A Staff Writer)
