Bengaluru: The foundation stone for Maulana Azad Bhavan was laid here by Mr. Zameer Ahmed Khan, Minister for Minority Welfare, on September 11. The four-storey Bhavan will come up on a 10,000 sq. ft’ plot of land behind Ambedkar Bhavan on Millers Road. It will house all the offices related with the Ministry of Minority Welfare. The construction, being undertaken by the Karnataka Housing Board, will be completed in 15 months. The Department has sanctioned Rs. 10 crore for the construction as of now. A similar Azad Bhavan is currently under construction in Seshadripuram area of the city. The projects for the Azad Bhavan were sanctioned during the chief ministership of Mr. Siddramaiah.
