Mumbai: A self-employment guidance workshop was organised in Mumbra on 24 February, 2013 by Jamaat e Islami Hind (JIH) Mumbra, in collaboration with Al-Aqsa Education and Welfare Trust, Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and National Small Industry Centre (NSIC). “As unemployment is a grave issue especially in India, this was an effort to increase awareness about various governmental schemes that promote self-employment,” said a spokesperson of JIH. N.U. Khan (Asst. Director of Micro Small Medium Enterprise ““ Directorate of Industries, Mumbai), introduced MSME and various schemes provided by them. Anand Malwade (Project Manager, Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurs Development, Thane), spoke on the importance of entrepreneurship. Abhishek from NSIC (Dy. Manager, National Small Industry Centre, Thane), introduced NSIC, which helps those entrepreneurs who have already started their business. He elaborated upon raw material assistance schemes by NSIC.
