Ludhiana (Punjab): In a humanitarian gesture to Rohingya refugees taking shelter in Bangladesh, members of the local Muslim community have contributed Rs 9.32 lakh, which also include a contribution of Rs 1 Lakh from Pritpal Singh, Mukh Sewadar of Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib. The money will be donated to Khalsa Aid, a voluntary body, which has been running a langar (community kitchen) for the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. In a function held at Jama Masjid here, the Shahi Imam of Punjab, Habib-ur-Rahman, felicitated the functionaries of Khalsa Aid for their noble gesture towards humanity. n
