Prof. Ameer Ahmed Noted academic and author Prof. T. M. Ameer Ahmed died on May 18 in Bangalore. He was 85. Prof. Ahmed took a Master’s degree from the University of Missouri and a doctorate from the Bangalore University. He taught environment engineering in University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) for nearly three decades and also authored around half a dozen books on vehicular pollution, need for mass rapid transit system etc. He was a member of the panel on environment of the Bangalore Metro Rail, ISRO and BMTC. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and two sons.
